This project is called 'Deciphering' and it uses the illiteracy statistics of my home state of Alagoas as a motivation to create a visual expression of the perception of illiteracy. Every image in this project was taken in Laos and Cambodia and represents an imagined meaning to a word in languages of which I have no understanding. Three images of this project were selected for the exhibition 'The Story of The Creative' at See Exhibition Space, in New York, 2013. 'Deciphering' was also selected to be exhibited for the first time as a whole in Pinacoteca Gallery, Maceio, Brazil, in November 2014.
